Located just 15 minutes east of Interstate 15, Woods Valley is a par-72, 6,670-yard layout that winds through stunning tree-lined fairways and rolling slopes.
Designed by Dave Ginkel, Woods Valley opened in 2004 and more recently has been garnering accolades for its course conditions. Credit course superintendent John Martinez, who came to Woods Valley from Journey at Pechanga back in January and has turned the course around.
“He’s taken the golf course to a level it’s probably never been before,” said Erik Johnson, JC Golf’s director of golf operations. “The course is in outstanding condition. I would contend that the back nine is one of the best back nines in all of San Diego County. With the great condition, we’re excited to introduce our JC Players Card players to it.”
Woods Valley is owned by the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, which also owns Valley View Casino & Hotel.
JC Golf has been working with Woods Valley for more than a year, and Johnson said starting Friday JC Players have the opportunity to play at a preferred “preview the course” rate. For a limited time, JC Players Card holders can play Woods Valley for $34 Monday-Friday and $50 on the weekends (rates include cart). Non-cardholders can play at a special rate of $39 (Monday-Friday) and $55 (weekends) for a limited time.
“We have heard nothing but positives over the last six months,” said head pro Grant Strobel. “We’ve had players who have been playing here since it opened telling us that the conditions have never been this good. John has done a tremendous job with the golf course. He’s made all of our jobs way easier.”
The JC Players Card, priced at $249 for weekday play and $349 for any day, features a complimentary round at each of the eight JC Golf properties, including Woods Valley Golf Club, Rancho Bernardo Inn, Twin Oaks Golf Course, Temecula Creek Inn, Encinitas Ranch, Reidy Creek Golf Course, Oaks North and 12 Shores Golf Club.
