A Grand Opening to Remember at Dos Osos Golf Club

On Monday, May 19, 2025, the JC Golf team, alongside the City of Escondido and the Escondido Chamber of Commerce, proudly celebrated the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Dos Osos Golf Club. Formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club, this beautifully restored course is nestled in the San Pasqual Valley, just minutes from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. After a soft opening on November 1, 2024, Dos Osos is now officially open and ready to welcome golfers and guests to experience a completely refreshed and reinvigorated golf destination.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all who helped make this milestone possible — including the City of Escondido, the Escondido Chamber of Commerce for hosting the ribbon cutting, San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond for his support, and the San Diego Humane Society, whose mission inspires our own commitment to community.

As part of our Grand Opening celebration, Dos Osos Golf Club is proud to support the San Diego Humane Society’s Ramona Wildlife Center. The sold-out Dos Osos Open Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 21st donated all proceeds to this incredible organization doing vital work for local wildlife.

A Year of Transformation: Restoring a Championship Golf Experience

The Grand Opening marks the end of an ambitious year-long revitalization project that has transformed every corner of the golf club:

  • Tunnels Cleared & Restored: Three major tunnels on holes #1, #9, and #10 were cleared of silt and debris, restoring both water drainage and cart path access.
  • Irrigation System Overhaul: From pipes to sprinkler heads, the entire course irrigation system was rebuilt to ensure efficient watering and lush turf.
  • Course-Wide Tree and Shrub Maintenance: Overgrown and fallen trees were removed to expand play areas and improve lines of sight throughout the course.
  • Bunker Improvements: Poor drainage was corrected, reshaped bunkers were installed, and fresh sand was added for better playability.
  • Signature Hole Restoration: A new pond liner was installed at hole #6, restoring its iconic waterfall and preserving water use.
  • Revitalized Turf: Years of soil damage were reversed with audits and repairs, and drought-tolerant Bermuda grass is now thriving across all play areas.
  • Tee Box Leveling: Par 3 tee boxes were leveled and sodded to offer consistent playing surfaces and cleaner ball strikes.
  • Clubhouse Upgrades: Entryways, check-in areas, and amenities were modernized, with indoor seating and branded merchandise added for a welcoming guest experience.
  • Deck Renovation: Unsafe decking and furniture were replaced to create a cozy outdoor space with stunning views of the 18th hole—perfect for drinks and post-round relaxation.

From new landscaping to new memories, Dos Osos Golf Club has entered an exciting new era. With a full event calendar, refreshed facilities, and a passionate team behind the scenes, we’re thrilled to welcome the community back to discover—and rediscover—everything Dos Osos has to offer. For our avid golfers, Dos Osos is included in the JC Players Card loyalty card membership program as well the JC 20/30 Club and JC Junior program.
