Encinitas Ranch Golf Course Honored with 2025 Recycled Water Customer of the Year Award
Encinitas Ranch Golf Course is proud to announce that it has been named the 2025 Recycled Water Customer of the Year by the WateReuse California Awards for Excellence. This prestigious recognition presented by the national WateReuse Association celebrates organizations and projects that demonstrate leadership in water reuse, sustainability, and responsible resource management.
The award recognizes Encinitas Ranch Golf Course’s recycled water pipeline project, completed in fall 2024, which repurposed and restored the Wanket water storage tank located behind the north driving range tee. By revitalizing this tank, the project created a reliable backup water supply for the golf course during peak summer months. Beyond benefiting Encinitas Ranch, the additional reclaimed water storage will also serve other recycled water customers throughout the Encinitas Ranch community.
This project is a key part of Encinitas Ranch Golf Course’s long-term commitment to water conservation, sustainability, and community stewardship. As Southern California continues to face ongoing water challenges, responsible water management ensures that golfers can enjoy exceptional course conditions while protecting resources for the future.
The award was received by Erik Johnson, Regional Director of Golf at JC Golf, and Brad Van Horn, Director of Golf at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, at the 2025 WateReuse California Annual Conference in San Diego on September 22nd at the Town and Country Resort. Not present yet instrumental in the recycled water project was Todd Kochanowski, Superintendent at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course.
