Needing a space to call their own for meetings and gatherings, the Men’s Club at Oaks North was recently given the opportunity to build their own pergola for a designated meeting place at the course.

Patty Penn, Tournament Director at Oaks North, found a nice big pergola that needed a new home so she approached Ron Nichols Jr., Men’s Club President, and asked if the club would consider leaving a legacy for the Men’s Club by donating the labor and costs to bring it to the course and rebuild it. They voted and it was approved.

Men’s Club member Paul Smith retired from a career as a General Contractor was instrumental in the project and did everything by code. Mike Maiorano was the consistent assistant to Paul and after about six weeks of working diligently together on the project, the sturdy white pergola is now complete.

When you visit Oaks North, stop by and visit the craftsmanship and, depending on the day of the week, see the Men’s Club enjoying their new place to meet.

From Oaks North and JC Golf, congratulations to the Men’s Club at Oaks North for this accomplishment and a big “Thank You” for this new, improved addition to the course!
