SAN MARCOS, CA, February 24, 2017 – Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club recently announced that PGA Professional Grant Strobel has accepted the position of Head Golf Professional. Strobel, who had been the Head Golf Professional at Woods Valley Golf Club for the last two years, began his first day at Carmel Mountain Ranch on February 9th.
“We are thrilled to bring Grant on board with his experience and ability as our Head Golf Professional,” said Kevin Hwang, General Manager of Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club. “Grant worked here early in his career as a First Assistant and we are so happy to have him back. He brings high-level golf expertise and professionalism that will shape our team moving forward.”
Strobel is a 2002 graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Business Management. Once earning his degree and returning to San Diego, he held golf professional positions at Steele Canyon Golf Club, Stone Ridge Country Club, Carlton Oaks Golf Club, and Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. In 2014, Strobel received the Southern California Assistant Golf Professional of the Year as well as the San Diego Chapter Player of the Year. An active member of the SCPGA San Diego Chapter, Strobel currently serves on the Board of Directors.

Strobel’s playing accomplishments include qualifying for the 2011 National Club Professional Championship at Hershey Country Club. He has played in the Sectional Qualifying Tournament of the U.S. Open and qualified five times for the Cobra/Puma Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship. Strobel was elected to the PGA of America in November of 2008, earning PGA Class A status. He is an accomplished teaching professional with over 10 years of teaching experience and has assisted numerous beginners, intermediate, and advanced players in establishing, improving, and perfecting their game.
