The demo day is taking on a new twist at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course. Instead of golfers being able to test drive a seemingly endless number of clubs from all the major brands in free-for-all fashion, something more personal is on tap.
It’s called Fitting Day and it’s set for 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on October 25. While demo days tend to attract window shoppers who are still contemplating a purchase, Fitting Day is designed for golfers who already have a good idea what they want and just need some help in getting the right clubs to fit their swing.
“This is more of a personal experience for those golfers who know what they want,” said Encinitas Ranch club fitter Ken Behrs. “With so many technology advancements in the industry, it’s important to have that personal experience so you can choose the right product that works best for you.”
Unlike demo days that typically feature multiple golf brands, TaylorMade Golf will be the only brand at this event. Again, the intent behind it is for golfers to have a more intimate experience. The Carlsbad-based company will be promoting its new PSi irons and M1 woods, which will be available later this month.
“It’s going to be a great event,” Behrs said. “We’re also running a 15 percent off special for those who need new grips. And we’ll do it right on the spot while you wait.”
The event is free, but a reservation is required. Call the Encinitas Ranch pro shop at (760) 944-1936 to sign up.
Behrs, who does custom club fitting for major brands, including TaylorMade, Ping, Cobra Golf and Titleist, said he hopes to put on a Fitting Day once a month with Cobra Golf likely to be the featured brand in November.
